This weekend the first European Downhill Cup was on the program. The race in Monte Tamaro in the south of Switzerland was classified in the UCI Hors Category, many fast riders took the chance to gather some UCI world ranking points.

The SC-Intense team was present with Florent Payet, Faustin Figaret, Lars Peyer and Miriam Ruchti. For Florent this was the first downhill race after his crash and injury in South Africa this spring.

The track with a length of 2200m and a difference in height of 640m was very long and hard for all the riders. On Friday and Saturday, training was held at best conditions. The track was awesome just the waiting time at the cableway of more than an hour per run was disappointing and not acceptable for such a race.

In the qualification run our riders reached the following places:

Faustin Figaret 25th
Florent Payet 34th
Lars Peyer 53 th

Miriam Ruchti 7th

On Sunday training and race were cancelled because of very bad weather in the morning so the standings of the qualification run is also the final ranking.

For the SC Intense Team it was a good race in between the World Cup Races. Flo took the chance for his comeback and everything went well for him. Faustin showed us a fast and solid run and for the others who knows how the ranking would have been in a wet race on Sunday…

We will be back at the EDC #2 in Leogang…
